If money can buy happiness, do you think poor are miserable?

In my opinion I will reinstate money can’t buy happiness. And the second part of the question are all the poor people miserable, firstly, you don’t need to be poor to be miserable. If so many are rich and can. still. be miserable then, why is the money not making them happy.

Secondly, how sure are ww that poor are miserable. This reminds me of a story. Once a rich man wanted to teach value of money, to his son, so he took him to a village which was not very developed. People were according to him less fortunate with money and few days living in the village he felt his son will learn value of money.

The Rich man left his son in his relatives place and said he would pick him up in 3 days. When the father came to pick up his son, the little boy was sad, they bid farewell and throughout the drive home his son didn’t utter anything.

Once they came home, all favorite food of the son was set on the table. But the son said. he is not hungry and goes to his room. Father takes a plate of food and goes into his sons room with his wife. Mother asked the son did you understand the value of money and did you understand how less fortunate live and still are. happy.

The boy spoke, when in village I wanted to bathe I was sent with some boys with uncle following us, to a huge pond, we fooled around in the large lake and I couldn’t stop thinking how small is our swimming pool . Then we were hungry, on the way back, we plucked mangoes and guavas and ate our heart content, here for fresh fruit we have to go to a super market to get it. In the night when we had to sleep all the kids were made to sleep outside in the open and we were counting stars and the breeze was just right I fell asleep gazing at the stars. Here the air conditioning is never right and with all the light in the streets, we can never see enough stars. I now understand how less fortunate we are.

His words came as a shock to both his parents and now they were the ones who learnt the value of money. So from this story I myself learnt that it is one’s mindset and one’s own values and believes which. sets the happiness index and money is not a reason for permanent state of happiness.
